The State of the Union
The State of the Union is an annual speech given by the President of the United States to the U.S. Congress. The U.S. Constitution requires the president to "...from time to time give to the Congress Information on the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient..."(U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 3). The president highlights his achievements and presents his goals for the upcoming year.
