My Educational Journey
My educational journey has one overriding theme. I love learning. I loved learning so much that I found very creative ways of stretching out my time as a students over 25 years - and am now back to pick up as a students once more.
I attribute my my level of success as an instructor to my sincere love of learning. It seems to me that enthusiasm is contagious and if I enter a lesson full of delight and wonder, the students leave the lesson with the same. Of course, there was that one group of high school seniors who were inspired by NOTHING - but in general, I have been blessed with bright eyes and willing minds.
My course work wtih TCNJ is proving to be foundational as well as culminating. The foundational elements are coming in the form of research methedology and educational media use. The aspects of classroom pedegogy are taking a more culminating approach, giving a name to many of the techniques and habits that have formed my classroom teaching over the years. This has been an exciting step upward on the ongoing path of education and I'm looking forward to many more of the experiences to come.
