The Cambrian Explosion wasn’t actually an explosion, it was a metaphor used to show how big it was. The Cambrian Explosion was actually just a great influx in the amount of new organisms in such a short period of time. This was a major turning point for all evolution later to come. Before the Cambrian Explosion it was mainly organisms with hard parts, such as shells. But after the Cambrian Explosion there were jellyfish, sponges, and worms. The Cambrian Explosion was a huge impact on what would happen later on in Earth’s history.
